gvidm software package provides quickly and easily change video resolutions in X, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gvidm
gvidm is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gvidm package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gvidm *
You will get with gvidm package name, version, architecture and description in a table
